September Beauty Routine Reset

Pink flat lay on a grid: eye patches, gua sha, roller, mist, lip mask, jelly cream and tweezers

September is the time of the year when schools and colleges go back and summer holidays become a distant memory, as we file back into the office. Daylight hours are getting shorter and the summer beauty routine you have starts to feel like it needs a boost in the mornings.

Your skin starts noticing the drop in temperature and the air feels cooler. What felt like plenty of moisture in August can start to feel a bit dry and tight. Nothing dramatic, but just enough for you to notice the products you reached for all summer no longer feel quite right.

So it's a good moment now to look at what you're using and review if it still works. Not a full clear-out, but a small reset: keep what earns its place, swap two or three items for something that suits cooler air and a busier week.

Here are six picks worth starting the new season with, to keep you looking your best:

Face mist

Most mists are water in a bottle. This one sprays as a jelly rather than a fine mist, so it lands as a layer you can press in rather than a cloud that mostly misses. It's small enough for your desk drawer or bag.

The reason it suits September specifically is that it slots into a routine you already have. The mist is formulated with collagen and peptides, for a radiant-looking finish without the greasy feeling.

Puffy eyes

These are for every day, not just for special occasions. Wear them whilst you are getting ready in the mornings.

Apply the patches after cleansing and leave them on for 20 minutes, to help the under eye area look less puffy and more hydrated. Alongside caffeine, they contain peptides and PDRN to help with the look of fine lines and skin firmness.

Dry cracked lips

Lips are usually the first thing to feel the season change, and it catches you off guard. Use it as an overnight balm: apply it before bed and let it sink in while you sleep.

The berry flavour is the original, with hyaluronic acid and niacinamide, for hydrated and plumper-looking lips.

Plumping moisturiser

A gel cream texture enriched with hydrolysed collagen and niacinamide that hydrates and leaves skin looking firmer, with a glass-skin radiance.

If you only change one thing this month, a moisturiser is usually the change that has the most impact on how your skin feels.

Face tension

Reach for the rose quartz roller and gua sha tool in the evenings and use them on top of your moisturiser or serum. They can help your face to look less puffy and relieve facial tension at the end of a busy day.

Tidy brows

Tweezers are the least glamorous thing on this list and probably the one you will use the most. The well-loved tweezers will help with a quick tidy-up and stop your brows going astray.

Make small changes to your beauty routine

Keep it small and change two things, not eight. Put the new products where you can see them: on your bedside table, next to the bathroom mirror, or in your everyday bag.

Start with one or two changes to your beauty routine, then review again in a month's time as the weather starts to get colder.
